Bethany Home Earns Deficiency-Free Survey for Second Consecutive Year
Bethany Home is proud to announce that it has once again achieved a deficiency-free rating following its annual state inspection—marking the second consecutive year the senior living community has received this distinction.

A deficiency-free survey is the highest rating possible from the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL), which evaluates senior living communities on a comprehensive range of federal and state regulations. These include resident care, medication management, cleanliness, safety, staff training, and overall quality of life. A deficiency-free result means that no issues were found during the unannounced, in-depth inspection.

“This recognition is a direct reflection of our team’s dedication to delivering the highest standard of care every single day,” said Sue Westmark, Administrator of Bethany Home. “We are incredibly proud of our staff, whose compassion, attention to detail, and commitment to our residents made this achievement possible for a second year in a row.”

With fewer than 5% of nursing facilities in Iowa earning a deficiency-free rating each year, this places Bethany Home among the top-tier communities in the state for quality and excellence in senior care.

Bethany Home offers a full continuum of care, including independent living apartments, skilled nursing, and memory care. As a nonprofit, mission-driven community, Bethany Home remains focused on creating a supportive environment where residents feel safe, respected, and cared for like family.

“Our goal has always been to provide excellent care in a welcoming and home-like setting,” added Westmark. “A deficiency-free survey affirms that we are living out our mission—and that our residents and their families can have peace of mind knowing they are in good hands.”
