Being physically active is important for all ages, but it is necessary when you are aging. Falls are the leading cause of injury in people over age 75. Daily strengthening and flexibility exercises may prevent falls and injuries.
Studies have shown physical activity in elders is key to helping with health issues.
Regular exercise can help boost energy, maintain your independence, and manage symptoms of illness or pain. Exercise can even reverse some of the symptoms of aging. And not only is exercise good for your body, it’s also good for your mind, mood, and memory.
At Bethany Home, we believe in aging in a healthy way. That’s why we offer a multitude of activities and exercise classes to encourage mobility, while providing socialization with fellow residents, family members, and staff.
All classes are conducted by trained staff members who continually encourage everyone to achieve new fitness goals and optimize their energy levels.
Our safe and effective exercise programs teach gentle movement to improve range of motion, flexibility, strength and endurance.
Balance skills and posture awareness are emphasized during seated and standing exercises, and muscle strengthening exercises are also incorporated.
